Baba Ramdev targets Congress, beats drum for BJP in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, Apr.2 (ANI): Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has hit out at Congress calling it the most 'corrupt' party embroiled in multiple scams, while beating drums for main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party's win in 2014 general elections during a rally in Chandigarh.
Ramdev slammed Congress party on Wednesday saying that it was responsible for the multi-billion coal scam and various other graft cases in the country.
"The whole country now knows that Congress is the most corrupt party in the entire world. Whether it is Bofors scandal, 2G scam, Commonwealth scam, Adarsh society scam or the multi-billion dollar coal scam in which all Congress members and even the Prime Minister was involved," Ramdev said.
Ramdev added:"Congress party president, Sonia Gandhi is believed to be running Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s government that is embroiled into a series of high profile corruption cases including telecom and coal scams.
"The 2G scam which had as per reports cost the exchequer up to $39 billion dollars in lost revenue and hit India's blue-chip Sensex index which damaged the reputation of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government and also tarnished the image of the country's telecom sector.", he added
Meanwhile, Ramdev hailed BJP's prime ministerial candidate saying that Narendra Modi was the only leader who could provide a stable and corruption free government and was hopeful that Akali Dal would again emerge as a winner in Punjab.
"A stable, honest, experienced and strong government with complete majority can come at the hands of Akali Dal, BJP and NDA. At this time I can't see any strength in the other parties apart from these. In the current circumstances, there is a stampede in all the political parties starting from ruling Congress till the newly emerged AAP," Ramdev said.
Baba Ramdev, who has been spearheading a national campaign against black money and corruption, has strongly supported Modi. (ANI)
