Observing ‘Public Wellness Month’, Vodafone partners with Max Hospital and Cipla Ltd for Free Health Check-Up Camp for Mohali residents

Mohali, August 12, 2015: As a people-centric organisation, Vodafone India is at the forefront of undertaking initiatives which contribute to the betterment of the society. It has a comprehensive Health, Safety and Wellness (HSW) policy in place which ensures that all its employees rate high on these parameters and tries its best to extend it to its customers as well. Extending the benefits of HSW to the public, the Vodafone Punjab Circle partnered with Max Hospital, Mohali and Cipla Ltd for conducting a ‘Free Health Check-Up Camp’ at Gurudwara Amb Sahib, Mohali, today. Over 300 people were examined at the camp.



Speaking on the initiative, Pushpinder S Gujral, Business Head- Punjab, HP and J&K, Vodafone India, said, “ At Vodafone, we are committed to the growth, development and betterment of the society we operate in. We extend this commitment to not only our employees and customers but to every member of the society. The free health check-up camp is an endeavour to help people get proper diagnosis and guidance from expert doctors and in the process make them aware about the importance of regular medical check-ups.”



At the camp organised today at Gurudwara Amb Sahib, Mohali, doctors and representatives from Max Hospital, Mohali and Cipla Ltd were invited to provide medical consultation to people. The free camp, conducted from 10 am to 2 pm, witnessed a turnout of over 300 people who were checked on various parameters as part of a general check-up. Further, they were given free counsel on specific ailments or concerns which they shared with the doctors. The doctors also emphasised upon the importance of regular health check-ups and shared tips on how to stay fit and healthy. The camp was conducted by some of the tricity’s most renowned doctors, including Dr Manuj Wadhwa (Orthopaedics), Dr Ashok Gupta (Medicine), Dr Seema Wadhwa (Gynaecologist), and Dr Preeti Grewal (Physiotherapist), from Max Hospital, Mohali. Representatives from Cipla Ltd conducted PFT (Pulmonary function test) for lungs and the BMD (Bone Marrow Density) test for visitors at the camp.



The people present at the camp appreciated this initiative as this free health check-up camp gave them an opportunity to discuss their health related concerns and receive expert guidance from best of the doctors in the region.



The ‘Free Health Check-Up Camp’ organised today at Gurudwara Amb Sahib, Mohali was part of the ‘Public Wellness Month’ being observed by Vodafone Punjab circle. Other than the camp organised today, Vodafone will be organising two more free Health Check-Up Camps, one each at Chandigarh and Panchkula, for the residents of the tricity under this initiative.
