The JD Institute of Fashion Technology, an eminent name in the field of design education officially launched Rohit Bal as the 'Mentor' for the student designers of the institute in New Delhi.

The event witnessed the association of two eminent personalities in the field of design. Mr. Rohit Bal who is an Iconic Indian designer and Mr. RC Dalal who has been a pioneer in the field of design education.

Rohit Bal is one of India's finest designers and is acclaimed worldwide for his traditional yet contemporary aesthetics and his client list includes a host of beauties like Cindy Crawford, Uma Thurman, Pamela Anderson to name just a few. It is his unique creative vision for which the influential Time Magazine has profiled him as the "Master of Fabric and Fantasy".
The designer views design as an art form, he draws upon history, fantasy and folklore to create his signature masterpieces. He was handpicked by the Khadi Gram Udyog, India's largest handloom textile operation, to collaborate with Khadi and design collections for them to sell in all their outlets. The visionary has an enviable list of collaborations with prestigious brands like Mitsubishi, Chivas, Zippo, Linen Club, BIBA, Jabong, Rolls Royce, Nebula to name just a few. He has also designed for Mr. Amitabh Bachchan for the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. With his flagship stores in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Chennai, Bal is one of India's most celebrated designer of the decade.
With an aim to share his expertise, Rohit Bal is taking his years of experience in the field of design industry to JD Institute and channelling it to teach the new age designers. The ace designer will be actively involved with the academics and will work closely with the students for their final collection. His monthly lectures will feature various experiences in design, market intelligence, retail and business of fashion.
Apart from mentoring, the fashion expert also plans to select student designers on the basis of talent, vision, hard work and creativity and create a core group who will present the collections at the JD Annual Design Awards, New Delhi.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology focuses on creating the designers of tomorrow. In addition to holding 29 campuses spread across India the institute also has an international campus in Central London, UK.
