Chandigarh girl shines with Gold in 10m air pistol shooting during National School Games
Ridhima Khindria a student of class 12th of Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh today bagged Gold in 10 m air-pistol shooting tournament in under 19 category with a cumulative score of 379/ 400 on the concluding day during the 63rd National School Games Championship held at Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune.
In the team category, the team representing Chandigarh in under 19 air-pistol category – Ridhima Khindra (379); Nandini Kansal (362) and Yashmeet Kaur (352) won Silver for with a cumulative score of 1093/1200. In team category the Gold was won by Maharashtra team.
Ridhima feels that shooting was one of her interests and is now turning out to be her passion, she said "I am really charged up with my overall and team's performance and this gives me the reason to push myself more. The constant guidance of my coach Mr. Arjun Chandel has been at the core of this achievement of mine. I dedicate this Gold to my coach and parents, who have constantly supported me, motivated me and encouraged me to follow shooting as my passion." This is second tournament where Ridhima has clinched Gold. In her maiden attempt, she got 3 golds in 42nd Chandigarh State Shooting Championship that was held in Sept this year at Panjab University Shooting Range, Chandigarh.
