Cyient appoints Venki Padmanabhan as Sr. Vice President – Systems Solutions, and CEO – Rangsons Electronics
Chandigarh, October 01, 2015 —Cyient today appointed Dr.Venki Padmanabhan as the Senior Vice President of its Systems and Solutions business, and the CEO of Rangsons Electronics Pvt Ltd (REPL), its electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) subsidiary. Dr. Padmanabhan will handle the definition and execution of Cyient's S3 (services, systems and solutions) value proposition, which differentiates the company as a concept-to-solution partner.
Mr. Pavan Ranga, the CEO of Rangsons Electronics for the last 15 years, will move into the role of Non-executive Director representing the Ranga family's ownership in REPL, as part of this transition.Mr. Ranga will continue to provide guidance on strategy, operations and business growth as Cyient continues to integrate REPL into its business and execute its strategy for integrated offerings.

Dr. Padmanabhan brings with him a diverse 26-year experience. Prior to joining Rangsons Electronics, he was the Managing Director (MD) and CEO of English Indian Clays Limited (EICL), which is part of the $500 million Karan Thapar Group. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Enfield. Additionally, he was MD of Chrysler's first South East Asia Global Sourcing Centre in Chennaiand has led several senior roles at DaimlerChrysler Mercedes Car Division and General Motors. Dr. Padmanabhan has numerous publications to his name in the areas of technology transfer, research-technology management, and technology commercialization.
Cyient acquired Rangsons Electronics Pvt Ltd at the beginning of 2015 to expand into high-technology and high-value, design-led systems and solutions. Rangsons Electronics has world-class production facilities, and provides services from design-to-production and end-of-life support. This also encompasses strong capabilities in managing new product introduction cycles, including prototyping, certification and vendor management.
