Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta's PGPEX records Impressive Placement

Chandigarh, 25th of August'15: IIM Calcutta's one-year residential program for executives, PGPEX witnessed encouraging season of placements for its eighth batch with a top salary of Rs. 33.70 lacs and average salary of Rs.22.69 lacs, an increase of 24.81% and 21.60% respectively over last year.


In a batch comprising of 50 students, a total of 54offers were made to 44 candidates(3 joined their previous organizations and 1 opted out).


A total of 55 Companies participated in the placement hiring process which included leading companies like Accenture, Amazon, Dell, Microsoft, Google, Ford Motors (IT), Snapdeal, Atos Consulting, Deloitte Touche, Oracle, CESC, Omni Active and Micromax among others.


IT/consulting and IT products firms led the charge with 12 and 10 offers each, followed by e-commerce with 8 offers. Other sectors which hired aggressively included Analytics, KPO, Power, BPO and Real estate. The roles offered to students ranged from mid management to senior management level with designations like Asst. General Manager, Solution Architect Director,Sr. Principal Consultant, DGM – Finance, Program Manager – IT, Manager – Ad Review Operations, Delivery Manager, Manager - Strategy & Transformation Office, Manager – Pathways, Sr.Product Manager, Business Manager, Digital Marketing Managerand Manager- Decision Analytics.

As the placement statistics show (e.g., 21.60% rise in the average compensation and 24.81% rise in the highest compensation as compared to the last batch), industry seems to increasingly prize such talented and committed people. The senior roles that the students of graduating batch have bagged convey the confidence industry has posed in the ability of PGPEX students of IIM Calcutta to contribute toward organizational growth."
