ASSE OFFERS GLOBAL OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH BEST PRACTICES AT SAFETY INDIA 2015

Chandigarh, September 30, 2015 – The American Society of Safety Engineers is proud to announce that the Honorable Minister of State for Science & Technology & Earth Sciences, Government of India, Shri Yalamanchili Satyanarayana Chowdary will inaugurate Safety India 2015 by sharing his thoughts on why this professional development conference is important to the future of India.

The two-day professional development conference and exposition runs October 15-16 at The Lalit Hotel, Mumbai, followed by one-day workshop on CSP/ASP Professional Certifications. This event will attract safety practitioners from a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, automotive, IT, biotechnology and many others.

There will be two global executive leadership forums on occupational safety and health featuring Mr. Darryl Hill, Vice President of Global Health and Safety at Johnson Control, Ms. Treasa Turnbeaugh, CEO of Board of Certified Safety Professionals, Mr. R. A. Venkitachalam, Vice President of Public Safety Mission at UL and Mr. Suresh Tanwar, Chief of Group Safety & Health at Tata Group.

ASSE opened its first India chapter in March 2012. Since then, membership has grown dramatically with the addition of three new chapters in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. ASSE's first professional development conference took place in Chennai in spring 2014.
